Rescued Dog Rescues Baby!

Australian Abused Doberman Saves Baby

Dobermans usually protect property. Movies show Dobermans as vicious, snarling fierce dogs.  Kerrie Kinder an Australian Doberman boarding kennel owner was shocked when she saw the state of Khan when she rescued him.  The poor dog she had raised had been abused by his first adoptive family. Khan was starving and had broken ribs. It was doubtful he could recover from his trauma and injuries. Should he be put down?

Adopting an abused animal can have risks, but Catherine Svillicic fell in love with Khan and brought him home. Khan seemed to be adjusting well to life with his new family, until four days later.

Catherine's daughter Charlotte was playing in the backyard with Khan when suddenly Khan started growling and pushing her baby. Catherine wondered why Khan was acting so aggressive, and before she could get to her little one, Khan had grabbed her baby's diaper and flung her across the yard like a rag doll.  Catherine wondered what on earth had gotten into her dog to act so strangely.

Little Charlotte got up, seemingly unharmed, but Khan gave out a yelp of pain and collapsed. Then Catherine discovered why Khan had grabbed the little one and tossed her across the yard. Khan was protecting the tot from a deadly snake!
Unfortunately, Khan was bitten by the snake while trying to save Catherine's little one.  Could Khan's life be saved once more?
